Overview
Mala Pata operates as an independent collective. Because our items are either made-to-order specifically for you or sourced through our curated network of brand partners, our return policies vary by item category. Our goal is to be transparent about our operational model while ensuring you receive the high-quality gear you expected.
Custom Made-to-Order Apparel
All Mala Pata apparel—including tees, hoodies, and embroidered headwear—is printed or embroidered only after you place your order. Because these items do not exist until you buy them, we do not hold inventory for traditional exchanges.
- No Returns for Preference: We cannot accept returns or exchanges for "buyer’s remorse" or for ordering the incorrect size. Please consult the size charts provided on each product page before checkout to ensure a proper fit.
- Damaged or Defective Items: If your item arrives misprinted, damaged, or defective, please notify us at contact@quemalapata.com within 30 days of delivery. Include your order number and a clear photo of the issue. We will arrange for a replacement to be sent at no cost to you.
- Product Variations: Slight variations in graphic placement, embroidery detail, or color saturation are a natural part of the digital-to-physical production process and do not constitute a manufacturing defect.
Curated Goods
For non-apparel lifestyle items shipped via our independent brand partners, we offer a 14-day return window from the date of delivery.
- Condition: Items must be in original, unused, and sellable condition with all original packaging and tags attached. Items that have been washed, worn, or altered will not be accepted.
- The Process: You must email us for return authorization. Do not send items back to the address listed on your shipping label. We will provide you with the correct return address for the specific partner associated with your item.
- Shipping Costs: Original shipping fees are non-refundable. For standard returns, the cost of the return shipping label will be deducted from your final refund.
Cancellations & Modifications
Our fulfillment system is automated to ensure your gear reaches you as quickly as possible.
- The 2-Hour Window: You have 2 hours after placing an order to request a cancellation or modification. Once an order has entered production or has been transmitted to a supplier, it can no longer be changed or canceled.
Refunds
Once your return is received and inspected by our partner, we will notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund.
- Method: Approved refunds are issued strictly to the original payment method used during checkout.
- Timeline: Please allow 5–10 business days for the credit to appear on your statement, depending on your financial institution.
Final Sale Items
The following items are strictly Final Sale and cannot be returned or exchanged:
- Sale and Clearance items.
- Gift Cards.
- Personal care items (incense, apothecary, etc.).
- Replacement items sent to resolve a previous defect claim.
